
“Igniting Creative Ideas for Positive Societal Transformation”
Raniban Foundation in collaboration with Eastern Research Institute of Positive Science (ERIPS) is organizing a Two-Day Youth Summit on “Appreciative Inquiry for Positive Youth Development” with the slogan “Igniting Creative Ideas for Positive Societal Transformation” on 21-22 September 2018 in Pokhara, Hotel Raniban Arcade.
In Nepal 50% population of the country is occupied by the youth. They are the potential reservoir of the country’s transformation. This country can achieve anything if the positive potential of youths could be unleashed effectively. To unleash their positive potential and inspire them to tap their potential and create the miracles for the human kinds, we need to explore new ways to inspire, encourage, stimulate and motivate for developing them as transformative and responsible positive leaders of our society. Appreciative Inquiry is worldwide accepted approach to ignite the creative ideas for positive transformation. The Appreciative Inquiry Approach is a strength-based revolution that is well complemented by other strengths based positive transformation models of development. The drive behind the summit is “Can we find better ways to create the Responsible, Enthusiastic, Charismatic, Creative and Innovative youth leaders they facilitate for flourishing communities we all want? And the answer is “Yes we can”!
In this summit we will share and explore together many innovative applications of Appreciative Inquiry and other Strengths Based Approaches that have been applied for igniting innovative ideas and positive youth development. Dr. Ram Chandra Lamichhane will be leading the summit.
The main objective of the summit is to transfer the transformational change skills to the participants by application of Appreciative Inquiry in their organizations as well as personal life including following specific objectives.
- Make them able to develop positive personality based on individual positive core
- Make them able to identify the positive core in any adverse or worst situation so that they bring the positive change in their organizations and personal life
- Plan to implement solutions at work or in their personal life to achieve their professional or personal goals.

To create the positive vibration and Appreciative Inquiry culture in organization and society, Appreciative Inquiry Summit for Positive Youth Development is designed for those who want to develop their career as positive transformative leaders. In this summit, participants will be able to learn theoretical foundation as well as application aspects of Appreciative Inquiry. After this summit, they will be able to understand how AI is different than other approaches to bring the positive transformation in the organizations as well as individual life. Positive Youth Development is an intentional pro-social approach that engages youth within their communities, schools, families or organizations in a manner that is productive and constructive recognizes, utilizes, and enhance young people’s strengths; and promote positive outcome for young people by providing opportunities, fostering positive relationships and furnishing the support needed to build on their leadership strengths. Every youth has talents, strengths and interest that offer them potential bright future. The positive youth development focuses on every youth with unique talents, strengths, interest and future potential.

Profile of Dr. RC Lamichhane; the Lead Facilitator of the Summit

Dr. RC Lamichhane has been serving as a chief executive officer of Eastern Research Institute of Positive Science (ERIPS) Nepal. He is Ph.D. in “Peace and Community Development in Nepal: An Appreciative Inquiry Approach”, he holds, Double Masters (Rural Development and Political Science), and Double Bachelors (Education and Law) degrees. He did Appreciative Inquiry Certification for Igniting Positive Business and Societal Transformation” from Case Western Reserve University USA and “Conflict Transformation Across the Culture and Peace Building” from SIT Graduate School USA. He has been working as professional trainer and facilitator for last 15 years. He has facilitated the First community forestry

international conference, 2009 in Nepal; 3rd World Appreciative Inquiry Global Conference, 2009 in Kathmandu; 5th World Appreciative Inquiry Conference, 2014 in Johannesburg; World Evaluation Conclave, 2014 in Kathmandu; 8th Global Human Conference, 2012 in Kathmandu; 1st South Asian Agriculture Extension Conference, 2014 in Kathmandu. He has worked as the Positive Organization Development Consultant. He has facilitated numbers of training, workshops, conferences in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, China, South Africa and The Philippines. He is well known experts on “Appreciative Inquiry Approach” . He introduced the Appreciative Inquiry in China Xian in 2013.

He conducted Appreciative Inquiry Training in Peking University, Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science in 2016 Talk Program in Beijing Normal University in 2016; “Appreciative Inquiry Training for the Department Heads of Sciatic Business School in Qingdao China in 2017; “Appreciative Inquiry for Building the Harmonious Relationship” in Zhengzhou University Henan in 2017 and Appreciative Inquiry in Chengdu China in 2017. He was presenter and speakers in many national and international conferences including; 2009 World AI Conference Kathmandu; South Asian Community of Evaluator Conclave 2010 in New Delhi and 2012 in Kathmandu; 2015 World Appreciative Inquiry Conference Johannesburg South Africa; Asian Broad Casting Union 52 General Assembly Turky 2015;

UNAPCICT/ESCAP Incdhoen Korea 2015; South Asian Scholar Forum Bangladesh in 2016, Disaster Preparedness and the Power of Local Leadership Philippines in 2017, Generation What Asian Council Meeting in Thailand and in Kuala Lumpur 2017.
He has been Teaching as visiting faculty member in Indira Gandhi National Open University Kathmandu Center, TU IOF Hetuada, Pokhara and Kathmandu. He is the immediate past president and executive member of Imagine Nepal and CEAPRED. Founder Chairperson of Eastern Research Institute of Positive Science and served as Executive Director of Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (ACORAB) Nepal, a largest communication network of Nepal. He introduced the positive and empowering journalism in community radios in Nepal.

He has taken the Radio Interview of Honorable Kailash Satyarthi, The Nobel Laurate in CIN studio Kathmandu. He has written several articles on positive organization development, appreciative inquiry and positive societal transformation issues in various national dailies and international magazines.
